Que Bella Ultima! (The Most Beautiful!)
From the moment of arrival to our reluctant departure, this was hands down, our best vacation rental--EVER! The agent and owners were there to meet and greet us, immediately putting us at ease with their warm, easy-going welcome. The house and grounds are absolutely gorgeous, packed with many very useful amenities (outdoor grill, pizza oven, shower by the pool, a/c in upstairs bedrooms, tons of comfortable outdoor seating, covered parking, etc.) The views from almost every side of the house are all you could wish for in an ideal vacation site. The sunsets were stunning, and we often sat on the terrazza to experience them. The beach is a convenient 15-minute drive away, but we didn't feel the need to go, since we had such amazing surroundings where we were. If you have a car, the property is also convenient for day trips to Lucca, Siena, Maremma, Pisa, Florence, Pienza, Cinque Terra, and a dozen other scenic and historical sites. The owners (Andrea and Rosa) couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. They have a business in town (1 kilometer), so were usually available for questions or assistance. Neither of them speak English (and we, almost zero Italian), but communication was really NO problem. One of the nicest things they did, was to provide us with an evening "picnic," preparing and serving an incredible variety of delicious pizzas from the wood fire oven! The cost was quite reasonable, and it was one of the highlights of our stay. Sonia, the agent, also a local, was very knowledgeable about everything a visitor might want or need to know. She provided us with maps, information, restaurant names, etc., and again, was also available for Q&A's from us. What can I say, this place has almost everything, including great hosts and a compelling beauty. As much as I would like to keep it a secret for myself, I also want it to continue succeed for the nice couple who own and run it. Vicki M.
